There's nothing like enjoying a carefree summer day with your best friend. Here are a few tips on traveling with your favorite feline or cuddly canine that will help keep your trips fun and stress free!
It's important that your pet be current on flea and tick control as well their vaccines to help protect them from potential harmful diseases. It's good to bring some water from home as well since some pets won't drink water that tastes different from the water they are used to drinking. If your pet is on any prescriptions make sure to pack them as well as enough medication to last the duration of your trip. It can stressful and sometimes difficult to get a medication refill when you are out of town. A collar with identification complete with contact information and/or microchipping is also important in case your pet gets lost. Last, but not least, especially according to my critters; is the subject of food.
Remember to pack their food as well as snacks. The particular diet your pet eats may not be available everywhere especially if they are on a prescription diet. Changing their food abruptly can cause gastrointestinal issues. Not a very fun issue for your and your pet while you are on the road.
Hope that everyone enjoys safe and fun summer trips with your best furry friend!
